Silver banded agate bangle, hallmarked Sheffield 1978

A silver bangle set with an elongated oval cabochon of banded agate. The stone displays warm brown and amber tones with natural banding formed through layers of silica over time. It is held in a plain silver bezel, attached to a smooth oval band that opens with a clasp. 

Inside are full Sheffield hallmarks for 1978, together with the maker’s mark N.S in an oval punch. The design reflects late 20th-century British jewellery, where simple silverwork was used to highlight the character of the natural stone. Absolutely stunning when the light shines through it!
