Amethyst and mother of pearl necklace

A sterling silver pendant set with amethyst and carved mother of pearl, suspended from a strand of polished amethyst beads.

The pendant is composed of three principal elements: a carved floral design mother of pearl disc and diamond shape, a large oval amethyst cabochon, and a smaller teardrop amethyst below. The components are articulated, allowing slight movement within the composition. The necklace is formed of amethyst beads with a sterling silver clasp. 

Amethyst has historically been associated with clarity and restraint, its name derived from the Greek amethystos, meaning “not intoxicated.” Mother of pearl, formed within the shell, has long been valued for its protective associations and its connection to the natural world.
