An antique Edwardian sterling silver medal fob by William James Dingley, fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1909 and featuring an ornate openwork design centred around a contrasting gilt shield-shaped cartouche.
The decorative surround is richly detailed with flowing scrollwork, geometric engraving and pierced sections that create an airy, architectural appearance. At its centre sits a polished blank gilt shield cartouche, originally intended for personal engraving but left untouched. The reverse mirrors the front with further decorative engraving and bears the maker's mark W.J.D. alongside full Birmingham hallmarks.
Originally awarded or presented as a sporting or commemorative fob, this piece has found a new life as a statement pendant.
Weight: 10g
Measurements: 2" length (including hanging loop), 1.1" wide
