Mexican silver poison ring with turquoise, size S.5 (US 9.5)

This sculptural poison ring is crafted in sterling silver and set with an elongated turquoise. The stone is secured within a hinged compartment, opening to reveal a hollow interior traditionally associated with poison or keepsake rings. 

The silver mount is heavily worked with scrolling cut-out decoration around the exterior, giving the ring a substantial, architectural presence. The hinge and clasp function securely. 

Turquoise has long been associated with protection and wellbeing, valued across many cultures as a stone of safeguarding, calm, and strength. Historically, it was often worn as a talisman and believed to offer both physical and spiritual protection to its wearer.
