Silver penguin charm or pendant

A delightful little penguin charm, crafted in sterling silver (tested, though unmarked). It's lightweight and hollow  inside -  full of character, it stands upright with fine feather detailing and a rather knowing expression. A fun and unusual piece that brings a touch of Antarctic charm to any chain or bracelet.

The date of this item is unknown, however an identical one is pictured and described on an entry on this BBC 'A History of the World' page, which suggests the pendant might have been made in the early 20th Century.

Tested as sterling silver. The hanging loop is not silver.
