Vintage textured heart pendant with black onyx, articulated design

Vintage statement pendant featuring three faceted black onyx stones set within a sculptural articulated heart design.

The pendant has a wonderfully tactile, handcrafted feel. Its heavily textured surface contrasts beautifully with the deep glossy black onyx, while the upper section is hinged, allowing it to move gently as the pendant is worn. The large bail is hidden behind the top section and can be worn with a variety of chain styles. 

Three individually set faceted onyx stones—a large pear cut, a smaller pear cut and a round stone—are arranged across the heart-shaped form, creating an asymmetrical composition.

Throughout history, onyx has been associated with strength, resilience and protection. Since antiquity it has been worn as a talisman believed to absorb negative energy and encourage confidence and self-control.
